Properties and ingredients of champignon
The button mushroom or champignon (Agaricus bisporus) is known worldwide as an delicious and thus a very popular edible mushroom. And like many other mushrooms, also the buttom mushroom contains a wide range of ingredients that a beneficial to the human body.
The champignon contains conjugating linoleic acids (CLA) to polysaccharides and proteoglycans as well as vitamins B, C, D, E and K and biotin.
Champignon in research and practice
As said before, the button mushroom has and is being studied for its functional and medicinal properties, although not nearly as often as some of its more popular mushroom friends. Some examples of such studies include how it can support liver health and wound healing. The champignon is also been used to treat high blood pressure.
